Proceeds from this year’s Smithdown Litfest will go to Smithdown in Bloom, a new community project to transform Smithdown Road and the surrounding streets with flowers, shrubs and art.
The Smithdown in Bloom volunteers work with local residents, businesses, organisations and schools to place tubs and planters along Smithdown Road, and at the corner of some Dales and Avenues streets, to make our area greener, brighter and more attractive for all.
Smithdown in Bloom has planning permission from Liverpool City Council for 29 planters. The launch site is the traffic island on the Smithdown Road/Greenbank Drive junction. There are already 3 planters in place, and eventually this island will have 7 planters.
