
Freddie Mercury lived in a flat above the Dovedale Towers pub just two years before becoming the lead singer of Queen.
Freddie Mercury was born Farrokh Bulsara in Zanzibar (now part of Tanzania). He found international fame as the lead singer of Queen, and was a hugely successful singer, songwriter and record producer. Since his death, Freddie Mercury has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and the UK Music Hall of Fame.
