George Harrison

The Way With Words exhibition celebrates notable people with a connection to the local area who found success with a career in words.

George Harrison was born in Wavertree and attended Dovedale Primary School.

George Harrison found international fame as lead guitarist of the Beatles. Among his many other achievements, Harrison also produced music acts on the Beatles’ Apple record label and was a co-founder of HandMade Films. In 1984 he was a founder members of supergroup the Traveling Wilburys. He is ranked No.11 in Rolling Stone’s “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time”.
