Linda Thompson

Writer Linda Thompson has won awards for her poetry, short fiction and screenwriting. Like many writers, Linda spent years in full-time employment, writing in her spare time. All that changed when, in 2001, she won the BBC Talent Drama Writer competition. Since then, she has been able to earn her living as a writer and has over forty hours of television to her credit, becoming a member of the core writing teams for BBC1’s Casualty and Doctors. Her poetry and short story successes include the Lake Aske Memorial Award and the Bridport Prize.

Linda is an experienced creative writing lecturer, having devised and run a popular, well-attended course in scriptwriting for the University of Liverpool Continuing Education programme. She has also taught on short story modules at Liverpool John Moores University. She has an MA in Writing with Distinction from LJMU. Linda lives with her husband, in an apartment overlooking the Mersey waterfront.
