THIS EVENT TOOK PLACE ON THURSDAY 16TH OCTOBER 2025, AT THE ATHENAEUM.
Join authors Jeff Young and Catherine Cole as they discuss their recent books in the Library Reading Room of Liverpool’s Athenaeum.

Catherine’s new book, ‘A French House’ is a loving exploration about an old French house and why people are drawn to France and French culture.
Jeff’s 2024 book, the TLS Ackerley Prize winning, ‘Wild Twin’, examines the role travel and place play in shaping our selves. Both writers have been driven by place in all their writing, and they’ll discuss this passion, including how place becomes a character in its own right.
A fascinating discussion by two Liverpool-based writers who are also ‘citizens of the world’ in their work.

This is an event from the Research Institute for Literature and Cultural History at LJMU and the Liverpool Book Club.
